I Will Never Fly United Again
Tuesday, June 10, 2008 2:24 PM
Mental note: Never fly United ever, ever again. Please cancel my United frequent flyer membership and flush all my miles down the proverbial toilet on one of your crappy planes. We all know how bad off the airline industry is. They are limping along, or at best, trying to ‘reinvent’ themselves in to some kind of relevancy while slowly stripping us of benefits... Read More...

Microsoft TechNet Briefings in Second Life
Friday, February 22, 2008 12:18 PM
Some Microsofties are starting to offer TechNet Briefings in Second Life at the Microsoft Ampitheatre. Michael Murphy has the straight scoop at his blog . Personally, I would like to see more of this type of thing. It add an interesting twist to keep the community engaged over the typical mass-Live Meeting webinar. Those are only a step-up from reading a book... Read More...

Spread the "Love"
Wednesday, February 20, 2008 9:43 AM
Phishing attacks are nothing new and you can usually spot them in your email with half of your brain tied behind your back. You've seen them - bad grammar, syntax and spelling. The obvious links to knock-off URLs. The pleas from Nigerian-Kings-in-hiding. Today in my GMail I received a note from Hallmark that I was the recipient of a e-card. Now, Valentines Day... Lenovo Consumer ThinkPads
Thursday, January 03, 2008 4:20 PM
I love Thinkpads. For the Windows or Linux-based laptop IMO there isn't a better combination of performance and features around. They are rock solid and well thought out. It was with great sadness when I was forced to change from a Thinkpad Tp60 to a Dell Latitude D620 as a result of a job change. Now I have noticed that Lenovo is coming out with some consumer... TechNet Edge: Framework is Up
Thursday, November 08, 2007 10:28 AM
For a few days now there have been some posts concerning the new Microsoft community site for IT Pros, TechNet Edge . I decided to give the URL a try today and saw some of the framework is in place. I was hoping for something more along the lines of Channels 8,9,10 and Mix - fresh, energetic and design forward. I will hold judgement... Read More...

My Shared Links Feeds From Google Reader
Thursday, August 23, 2007 4:34 PM
I have switched over to Google Reader (after being a long time FeedDemon user) and am loving the browser-based access anywhere experience. While FeedDemon had great offline reading abilities, if I switched computers I was out of luck. It also doesn't have a sweet Blackberry reading option as does the web-based Google Reader. Part of this switch also means that... Read More...

Windows Live Folders Beta Open
Wednesday, August 01, 2007 2:33 PM
The Windows Live Folders team has opened its beta for new testers. I have been looking around and immediately I am taken aback by what seems like the requirement to upload your files one-by-one! As I browse around I see no options to upload a directory or folder's worth of files. This definitely needs addressing pronto Live Folders team. PS Raise the quota while... Read More...

Dell has announced on it's Direct 2 Dell website that it will be releasing a Latitude Tablet PC in the second half of 2007. It will be using "leadership technology" and be optimized for the education, healthcare and corporate Tablet PC markets. It does look nice and thin and I cannot wait to start getting reports on this puppy once reviewable units start hitting... Read More...

Ohio State "My Colors" Theme From Stardock
Thursday, May 17, 2007 10:01 AM
I was happy to see that Stardock was using it's skinning expertise to provide themes for it's Object Desktop suite of programs. After all, their skins are arguably the best. I have looked high and low for a good Ohio State theme and to be honest, none have blown me away. So when I saw Stardock Design debut the My Colors line I was excited. I was less excited... New ThinkPad Designs Released
Wednesday, May 09, 2007 2:51 PM
I have always been a big fan of the Thinkpad. While traditionally more expensive, they are one of the most reliable and best made laptops around. They are also one of the best made for the enterprise and boast a ton of management capabilities built in, both at the hardware and software level, for support and end users. The Dell is pitiful in comparison in this... Read More...

Apple Delays Leopard
Monday, April 16, 2007 10:10 AM
I like Apple's computers, and if I had a few thousand lying around with nothing to do I might buy one. One thing I was never a fan of though, was Steve job's arrogance and open hostility towards Microsoft when on stage - and in advertising with regards to the delays surrounding Longhorn. Now it seems the shoe is on the other foot and I love these quotes from... Read More...

Boycott the RIAA in March

Gizmodo is proposing March as "Boycott the RIAA Month." I, for one, am happy to join in. There arent many groups I am in disagreement with when it comes to trying to increase their revenue income, but the MPAA and RIAA have been so blind to making a system for fair digital consumption of their respective media for America that it boggles the mind! They could... Read More...
