No SLP in 'System Management' OU

    Hi all--

I have installed and configured SCCM2007 and I can see machines on the network in the 'All Systems' group but I cannot install a client to them.

I was doing some poking around and I noticed that there's not SLP listed in the System Management OU.  The MP and SMS-Site-RND entries are there.

How do I create the SLP entry and what permissions should I give it?  Is an OU like the MP?

    Thanks!
    Joe

    hi

first of all give permissions(full control for object and all sub object) to the sccm computer account over the system or system>>system management container.

then reboot the machine so the settings take place.

when the component manager starts it will try re-registering the slp right(im assuming eveything else is configured right)

check schema extension ran succesfully(root drive).

check slpsetup.log to make sure installation went ok.

    if it still doesnt work

post component manager log and we'll see whats going on.

    Thanks Turbomcp...

I thought I had hit POST last night when I replied to you, but I guess not.

Anyway, I rechecked the permissions on the AD container and they are correct.  I started looking through the SCCM manager and I gave the SCCM server the SLP role.  I thought that was granted during install, but I may have missed it.  The SLP object in System/Systems Management is present, and I tried pushing out the clients again so we'll see what happens.

    Thanks for the help!
