Tools and Methods for capturing blogcasts

Brian (or anyone): What tools (software, hardware) and so forth would you recommend for capturing blogcasts?  I'd like to try making one and see if I can make something useful.  I have a Windows Vista desktop (32-bit) and a Vista laptop (64-bit), both have 4GB physical memory.  I have a microphone also.  I'm curious as to what software works best for capturing the screen, as well as audio.  Also, I use VMware Workstation so hopefully that's not going to factor in (as opposed to using Virtual PC or something else).  Any suggestions?

Camtasia Studio bt Techsmith is what most people use. I use Virtual PC, but if you can reduce the window size in VMware, then you should be ok. I posted on my blog about some changes to the site. Since you are interested in making one to see how it goes email me on the side and I will fill you in more. Send me a private message.
