Hi ,
I've watched a few of the blogcasts on here before on SMS which were really useful so thought it'd worth a go posting this rather odd problem to see if anyone has any ideas!
I've been using the SMS OSD pack for about a year and a half on a fairly small network (400 clients) without much trouble. Got RIS (now WDS legacy mode) booting the contents of the install CD ISO then run the image install wizard, enter PC name and away you go. Well it was that simple until recently when we started being unable to image more than one machine at a time
If I set the first machine off it starts fine, runs through onto the installing progress bar (we've got the OSD pack update so the bar only has 4-5 blocks that work) and all seems OK. I'll set off the 2nd machine and again all looks fine. Come back 20 mins later and the 1st machine will have crashed out; either the wizard just stops, bar disappears leaving us with the background or we'll get a BSOD. That usually tends to be a STOP 0x0000007A (KERNEL DATA INPAGE ERROR).
I'm wondering if it could be due to the spec of the server we're using, network issues or an OSD Update bug? I tried the SMS SP3 update but it didn't help. The OSD used to work fine last time we imaged 10 machines so not sure what's gone wrong between then and now???
Server runs SMS (all roles inc. distribution point): AMD Opteron 252 (2.6GHz) Single Core Processor, 1GB RAM, 2x72GB SATA disk (RAID1, OS) 2x320GB SATA disk (RAID1, data)
Any help much appreciated
