  • My awesome laptop....times 2...

I have had a Lenovo T61p laptop for almost a year now. This is absolutely the best laptop I have ever used (no...it is not the laptop that has given me so much grief for the past few weeks). The T61p is used as my demo platform when I am in front of audiences and doing webcasts. It have 2 SATA drives...

  • Native Blu-Ray support in Windows?

While posting my previous article, my eye caught a link on the PCPro.uk site stating "Microsoft bulks up Windows with Blue-ray support" . The article says we are developing a feature pack that will add native support for burning to Blu-Ray media to Windows along with some feature to lock down...

  • Tech News and stuff.....

I didn't receive nearly as much feedback to my question about where you get your news from as I wish I had so I had to go looking on my own. One thing I realized is that I do not spend enough time at the on10 and TechNet EDGE sites . Sure...these sites are overwhelmingly geared toward Microsoft/Windows...

  • Ker-blah....

Nothing particularly exciting to post about today. Lots of busy work around the house. The peak of the day is right now as I write this and load up the new Zune with some tunes. Actually, I did build two dog beds. One for Shadow, my friend Jamie's pug and another for Archibald (Wiener), my friend...

  • Post #1 of 365... (some BitLocker stuff)....

And so it begins.....this is the first post of the 1 year test that I am doing to make at least one post a day for the next 365 days. At first I thought I would shoot for just business days but I figure I can get the other 104 posts in as well. I don't want to just post fluff to make it through though...

  • The Darkness....

Not that I should have to point this out, but I have not been very active since my screencast posting on (S)FTP about a month ago. If you read my post on June 16th you will get a feel for why. It has been and continues to be a busy time for me. Add in that it is review time, and things are pretty active...

  • No TV service for a year.....

I canceled my cable TV service today. Later this afternoon I am going to drop off the HD DVR and since I have consistently overpaid my bill for the last year they actually owe me money when all is said and done. People that know me real well might think I have lost my mind. Partly because they know how...

  • Get the fact about Vista from Technology Wizards.....

Technology Wizards is a group of independent IT consultants with a strong focus on small business. I have delivered some Windows and SBS sessions for their group in the past. Ken Shafer leads the group and he let me know about an independent "Get The Facts" seminar they are delivering on Vista...

  • What do you need to know more about?

I am in San Diego today where I will be chatting with Partners about our Response Point offering. Way cool product for small business and I think some partners are going to do very well offering solutions around this product. But that is not why I am posting this.... This is my last road trip until approximately...

  • Rebuilding the home network....

I have spoken about my home network at a  few presentations and during the breaks there have been plenty of "oh yeah!?!?! well I have....." conversations. I think some of the most interesting conversations are around how we name our machines and networks. I have spent over and hour sitting...
